Majorca has been so lucky over the past few years with the Arab Springs, Summers, Winters and Autumns continuing to flare and nudging thousands more holiday makers our way. There is rampant talk of another record season, in Majorca any way, not in the UK or Germany, and a general contradiction of tourist figures which are mainly based on passengers using Palma airport. However, what is not taken into account is how many of those passengers live here and how many are using the hub to catch a connecting flight, that break down is unable to get hold of - it would not be in the interests of national security!
And, against this glorious backdrop of euphoria are unhappy holiday makers who have started airing their grievances through the Bulletin.
No body likes getting ripped off, not even multi millionaires, and no body likes poor take it or leave it service.
But, sadly, that is what people are complaining about, no one really cares about anything other than the bill being paid.
Surely, with nearly six million out of work, people would be happy to have found employment, albeit for the Summer season, but no. As one wealthy friend of mine said we're sick and tired of getting mugged every time we go out of the house.
And that is why those who can afford it, are increasingly choosing other destinations which offer value for money. Perhaps Majorca will start charging for a smile next.
