In a first week of extaordinary commitment and achievement at the London Olympic Games it would be premature and unfair to name a single athlete as the Person of the Olympics. Who knows what amazing feats remain before the closing ceremony takes place? Instead, then, an acknowledgement of The Athlete, male and female, who dedicate their lives for long years to the excellence that the Olympics demand of them. Whether they return home triumphantly with a Gold Medal or sorrowfully trying to disguise their disappointment, does not matter. Truly, the taking part is the important thing.
