By Jason Moore MAJORCA'S magic touch has certainly made a difference to the British Olympic women´s swimming team. Britain had not won a gold medal in the women´s events in the pool for many years but yesterday Rebecca Adlington won the Olympic gold medal while her team-mate Joanna Jackson took bronze. Both had attended a training camp in Majorca just a few months ago and it obviously made a big difference. It appears more than likely that the British Olympic team will continue to train here. There is even talk of the construction of a purpose built centre, on the east coast. Majorca´s connection with the British Olympic team doesn´t stop there, either. The Olympic cycling team (both male and female) have been training on the island and they are almost certain of a major medal haul. And it doesn´t stop there. The British Olympic sailing event led by Ben Ainslie has been training on the island and Majorca´s great sailing conditions are expected to help them take gold, also. The fact that the British Olympic team and Majorca have put together a winning combination is great news for all. Perhaps the local authorities could even promote Majorca´s great winning combition.
