Dear Sir, I am currently on a family holiday at Soller and I am disgusted at the water quality. It is murky and there is lots of rubbish floating about. I am very disappointed as we expected Majorca to at least keep its beach and sea clean as this island is one of the best tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. I hope you will look into this matter before its too late, but it has put me off coming back here again.

Yours faithfully

Dear Sir, My letter about being ‘ripped off' whilst buying drinks in Palma elicited a response about how many wonderful bars and restaurants there are on this Island which would welcome our business. I could not agree more and rarely frequent the obvious tourist spots. However, that was not my point. Tourists provide one of the main sources of income for this Island. People who have not visited before are likely to want to visit Palma, a beautiful, interesting and cultured city. I feel ashamed that any tourist should go away with negative memories of their treatment on Majorca because they are unlikely to return. Whether an obvious tourist spot or not, I do not believe that €10.50 for a litre of draught lemonade is ever justifiable and no visitor will return to a city where they have to be constantly on the look out for that kind of ‘rip off'.
