TO the local authorities and hoteliers who continue to attack so-called illegal holiday apartment but offer no alternatives and fail to mention the fact that the revenue from them is vital for the local economy. So-called illegal holiday apartment have become the bad boys of the tourist industry. The local authorities should offer the necessary guidelines and advice on how apartments can be rented out legally to ensure that this vital source of revenue is not lost.
