Dear Sir,

RE: Lost Bible inscribed 1889 to Thomas Dickson

I have recently started to assist in raising funds for the centro canino and have come across an old Bible donated by someone. Inside the Bible the inscription reads: To Mr Thomas Dickson as a token of regard and esteem from his friends in Annan Presbyterian Church, Annan, Ontario. September 6th 1889.

With the help of my friend in Canada, I have been in contact with the Reverend Hugh MacDonald in Annan who has passed all the details onto a genealogist. It is now known that this Bible was presented to Thomas Dickson a Miller of Scottish descent, on his retirement before he left for Rupert's Land with his wife and daughter to become an agent for the Hudson Bay Company. Unfortunately Thomas died a year later in 1890.

I wonder if any of your readers, in particular the Scottish ex-pats will recognise these few facts and could shed any light on how this Bible came to Majorca. I would very much like to hear from the person who donated this lovely Bible.

Many thanks
