...for Michelle Michael and her brother Kerry the owners of the 104-year-old Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare which was gutted by a fire in July 2008. At a cost of 40 million pounds they have restored the Grand Pavillion and introduced a wide range of other attractions, as well as installing a state-of-the-art fire detection system. More than 50'000 people visited the pier on its opening day last Saturday to sample its dodgems, carousels, rollercoaster, lazer maze and 4D cinema with moving seats.
