...for Britain's Fire Brigades Union and its London members for their decision to hold a strike on 5 November -- Bonfire night. Union members face the loss of some three thousand jobs in London under new employment contracts and the right of all unions to strike as a last resort cannot be questioned, but the decision to walk out on the day of the year they are most needed is unlikely to win the public sympathy normally extended to men and women who undertake dangerous work.
