Dear Sir, With regard to Ray Flemings piece “How's your Britishness” where he informs that from now on, every foreign national applying for British citizenship must pass a 24–question multiple–choice “Life In The UK” test and his further comment “How many of us, however, would pass a comparable test about Spanish living and language if we had to take it before settling here?” The British government is not asking these questions of people who merely want to reside and make a living in Britain, but of those who wish to take on British citizenship and have a say in how the country is run. I think it's a great idea and hope the Spanish goverment does something similar. You should not be allowed to call yourself British, or Spanish merely for the convenience of a passport if you know nothing about the culture or way of life. Sent By Email
