FOR Sir Alex Ferguson who will celebrate 25 years in charge of Manchester United today. During this time the team has played 1'409 games under his management, winning 37 major trophies, including 12 Premiership titles, while scoring 1'798 goals. In 1989 Ferguson reached what he called “the most difficult time of my career” as he faced calls for his dismissal from club supporters, but he recovered and is now regarded internationally as one of the greatest football managers of all time.
