Dear Sir,

I wonder if any of your readers could tell me why there are no registered camping sites in Majorca.
I would have thought that providing camping facilities to go along with hotel and self catering accommodation would help the struggling economy, particularly in winter.
Just about every other country in Europe provides these facilities and one only has to take France as a paradigm case to see how it should be done.
There is land in abundance for such use and just imagine how the extra spending power would benefit the local economies.
Or is it, as I fear, that yet again the hotel lobby controls the Island?
Yours faithfully

Christopher Strickland
