Dear Sir,
Apartment owners do not tell hoteliers what they can do, and cannot do, in their hotels. Hoteliers have no right to tell apartment owners what to do with their own property, providing it does not inconvenience their neighbours, or the public at large.
Let the tourists choose where they want to stay. The customer is always right! The government should welcome all tourists.
The apartment owners need to get together to defend their basic human rights at local and Balearic level.
Yours sincerely,
Robin Musters

Dear Sir,
The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow (23 July- 3 August) is due to go off with a bang. Despite some opposition 5 tenement tower blocks are to be dynamited to start the event. A month earlier Scotland will celebrate the 700 hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn (24 June) a rare military victory over the “Auld Enemy” England. In September, Scotland is still super busy with the Ryder Cup (23 – 28th) and the Independence Referendum (18th).
All of this may benefit Alex Salmond’s SNP with his referendum as it coincides with all three spectaculars. With the Yes vote now only a few points behind the No vote a feel good kick might bridge the difference.
