Well, what a week. This time last week, Britain was a fully paid-up member of the European Union, had a stable government and everyone was preparing for their summer holidays and their trip to the continent. Now, Britain is no longer a member of the EU, we don't have a Prime Minister and everyone is concerned about the cost of their summer holidays. An earth-shattering change. But even though there is a fundamental change in Britain I haven't seen much evidence of euphoria from the "Leave" campaign. They scored a fantastic victory but they appear to be as shocked as the "Stay" camp.

The biggest problem for "Leave" is that they have to live up to all the promises they have made and make sure that the divorce is as quick as possible and doesn't damage the British economy. Easier said than done. You see, I may be completely wrong, but I don't think that Britain has seen the last of the European Union. Divorce is a messy business and there is always time to kiss and make-up, even though it may appear highly unlikely at this stage. Little euphoria and plenty of shocked faces: not exactly an Independence Day party.
