While the British tourist market is the most dominant in the Balearics, it is the Germans who rule in Mallorca, but for how long. Warnings have already been sounded by local industry bosses about a tough winter and summer 2023 as a result of the economic squeeze on Europe, in particular Germany and the UK.

The Balearics needs to be looking over its shoulder because Turkey, and Greece, are gobbling up the holiday market.

You've apparently been hoping for that for some time now. Remember last year about this time? Turkey was "knocking the stuffing" out of the Balearics? Because it's cheap. Remember? 2022 was finally going to be the disaster year that taught Mallorca a lesson about how important it is to be cheap? Like Turkey or Greece? Turkeys do vote for Christmas sometimes...
