The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries have put a spanner in the works as regards abolishing quarantine in Britain, dog owners in Majorca said yesterday. Dogs now have to undergo blood tests, apart from microchipping and other medical tests, to be given the so-called pet passport which allows entry into the United Kingdom. The blood tests have to be carried out six months before the planned visit. One furious dog owner in Majorca yesterday said that she had wanted to take her pets to Britain in Februar,y when passport for pets come into force, but this latest spanner in the works will mean that she will have to delay her visit until May. Last night she said I knew nothing about the blood testing. I thought I had done everything by the book. I am very upset and confused.
