The British Ambassador to Spain, Mr Peter Torry, will be visiting the Balearics this weekend and will be meeting local leaders and businessmen. Mr Torry's trip will also coincide with the visit to Palma by the Royal Navy frigate Montrose. Mr Torry last visited Majorca in 1999. He will also be visiting Ibiza. The British Ambassador joined the Foreign Office in 1970 and his career has included postings to Washington, Jakarta, and Havana. It is more than likely that the Ambassador will hold talks with the leader of the Balearic Government, Francesc Antich and probably the Mayor of Palma Joan Fageda and the Government Representative Catalina Cirer.
