A british mother and her daughter, aged 50 and 20, were allegedly raped at knifepoint in the early hours of yesterday morning, near the hotel where they were staying in Magalluf. Two men were involved in the brutal attack. The two women were returning to their hotel, after having a drink in a bar, when they were approached by two Spanish-speaking men. They were threatened with knives and taken to waste ground, where they were raped, before the men fled.

The two women, who have not been named, went to their hotel for help and the Guardia Civil were called. Mother and daughter received first aid at the Palma Nova health centre and were then taken to Son Dureta for tests and analyses. Both were suffering from shock and had severe bruising in several parts of their bodies, particularly their faces. The Guardia Civil set up road blocks and searched the area but failed to find the two men. The search is continuing and the two victims are believed to have provided the Guardia Civil with good descriptions of the two men.
