Majorca's first lesbian wedding took place yesterday in Deia. Long time friends and lovers Cristina Morral, left, and Francisca Soler were united in a ceremony in the Deia town hall conducted by the Mayor. Their union is valid and yesterday's ceremony was entered into council records. They were joined by a large number of friends and relatives. The first gay wedding in Majorca took place last July in Calvia. Under new Spanish legislation mayors can now officially marry people.
