Actor, novelist, director, producer, humorist and UNICEF ambassador Sir Peter Ustinov arrived in Palma yesterday at the start of his annual summer holiday with his wife at the Hotel Formentor, in front of which he always has his yacht moored in the bay. Unfortunately Sir Peter was not met by his pre-booked wheelchair and his wife had to fight with the crowds to find some assistance for the great globetrotter who lives in Switzerland. Earlier this year Sir Peter was presented with the Silver Siurell by the Grupo Serra, which owns the Bulletin, at the media organisation's annual awards ceremony and Ustinov showed that, at the age of 78, has lost none of his wit or sense of mischief. Knighted by the Queen and twice an Oscar winner, Peter Ustinov satisfies his insatiable curiosity for life by crisscrossing the continents. Sir Peter is known worldwide for his accomplishments as an actor, producer, director, novelist and playwright. Equally significant are his contributions as humanitarian and Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef. For over 25 years he has been an invaluable asset for advocacy, fundraising and media events all over the world.
