One of the largest royal gatherings Majorca has seen in recent years set sail for a day's cruise on board the royal yacht Fortuna yesterday. King Juan Carlos of Spain and Queen Sofia hosted the day out for their guests King Alberto II and Queen Paola of Belgium who arrived on Thursday for a long weekend. The King and Queen of Belgium are staying in the Marivent Palace grounds in the Son Vent guest house which has been renovated to its traditional Majorcan glory by the Balearic government for guests of the royal family. However the centre of attention yesterday were the King's grandchildren Froilan and Juan. The royal party included the Infanta Elena, who is expecting her second child in October and her husband Don Jaime de Marichalar with their son Froilan and the Infanta Cristina, the Duchess of Palma and her baby boy Juan. The Duchess of Palma is also expecting a second child, but not until later this year. Yesterday's cruise was the first time the King and Queen of Spain have taken guests out on the new royal yacht. The royal party also included Ana Maria and Constantine of Greece, Queen Sofia's brother, and their son Filipos.
