Pollença and Porreras will benefit from Balearic ministry of tourism aid to diversify their offer for tourism. Minister Celestí Alomar has just signed the corresponding agreements with Francisca Ramon, the Mayor of Pollensa, and Joan Sastre, the Mayor of Porreres. Plans for Pollensa include recovering the wetlands at Sa Gola in the port and on the front line bordering the sea. This area has been allowed to slip into a state of abandon, and Ramon said that government aid will enable them to carry out the first stage of work which consists of cleaning up the area. The special plan is more ambitious, and we will be seeking more aid, she said at the signing of the agreement. In Porreres, the Balearic ministry of tourism will renovate and adapt the abbatoir as a tourist centre. It will be equipped with a shop for selling local produce and will also provide information on the municipality. The local farmers' cooperative will be in charge of the sale of local produce.
