National police detectives are investigating the link between the gangland murder of two orientals in Palma and the infamous Triad gangs which have been slowly moving into Europe. Police suspect that the two men were killed and later burnt at the Son Banya gypsy encampments because of a dispute over drugs. Police say that Son Banya is an alleged hotbed of drug dealing. The killing has sparked a major island hunt and police have been in contact with their colleagues on the mainland. It is known that the Triads wish to have a share of the lucrative European drugs trade. One police officer said yesterday we are following various lines of enquiry and we are ruling out the possibility that the killings could be contacted to rival gangs. The two men had both been shot in the head and neck. Their bodies were discovered on Sunday morning.
