The Guardia Civil have confirmed that two men were involved in the murder of a German woman, Imelda Regina Femmer, at her home in Sa Mola, although only one did the stabbing which occurred nine days ago. It is believed that one man kept watch while the other ransacked the house and committed the murder. Sources say that they got away with very little cash and jewellery. The victim was a wealthy widow, with a medical practice in Germany and real estate interests in Majorca. She was attacked in the hall and stabbed five times, then her body was dragged to the kitchen and hidden in the larder. Sources said that a breakthrough was imminent, although no details of the investigation have been revealed. Officers have taken statements from dozens of persons, including friends, associates and her maid, and have reconstructed events. Control points have been set up in and around Andraitx and manned day and night. Residents say that they cannot remember a similar display of force in many years.
