Palma prostitutes could be paid by the local government to leave their “profession.” The new scheme was announced yesterday and a local government source said any one of the 900 women presently “working the streets” will be offered financial incentives to give-up their present “job” and find something more suitable. Many of the prostitutes in Palma are immigrants from Africa and South America. They “work the streets” around the Plaza San Antonio.
