The Balearic University (UIB) will offer degrees in English Philology from next year, following the approval of a government decree which also includes Physiotherapy and Technical Architecture. A government spokesman said that no new specialities at the University had been approved since 1992. When the government came into power, it agreed with the University to study the degree courses with a view to demand and needs for the Balearics. A survey showed that pre-university students favoured courses already available at the University and technical and health science degrees.
