The world's oldest yachting company, Camper & Nicholson, has been bought by a French company, according to reports yesterday. The yachting company, which has an office in the Club de Mar in Palma, is said to have been bought for £14 million by the Rodriguez Group. Camper & Nicholson charter some of the most luxurious and expensive super yachts in the world, including the Leander (above), owned by Sir Donald Gosling, the National Car Parks tycoon, which is a regular visitor to Palma and said to be the most expensive superyacht for charter in the world. A few years ago, the Leander G built in 1992, was on the charter market for $315'000 per week, making her the most expensive in the world. The new owners, who design and sell large day boats, plan to move in to the charter and brokerage market on the back of their purchase of Camper & Nicholson.
