A 55-year-old French hiker had to be airlifted to hospital yesterday after suffering an accident along the mountain road which leads to Michael Douglas's Valldemossa estate. According to the 112 emergency service the French woman, identified as Monique D. injured her legs and her walking companions at first thought that she had broken both of her legs after she passed out for a few minutes. However, once airlifted to Son Dureta hospital in Palma, doctors confirmed that she had suffered slight injuries and she was discharged three hours later. The alarm was raised at 2.10pm and initially an ambulance and the Local Police were dispatched to the scene before a Guardia Civil helicopter was called in to assist the evacuation.
