Half million April tourists to Balearics

The summer season appears to have finally taken off with many bar and restaurant owners reporting that business is booming, especially in the British market - but passenger figures at Palma airport have still yet to stabilise. This weekend's passenger figures at Palma airport will witness an increase on the same period last year with 294'000 passengers expected, 0.26 per cent more than last year. But passenger figures for the week ahead, 505'000, are 2.44 per cent down on the same period last year. Tomorrow will be the busiest day of the weekend with air traffic controllers expecting to handle 855 flights carrying 125'000 passengers.
