More than 2'000 people took part in yesterday's demonstration to protest at the lack of movement towards building the long-promised Port de Pollença ring road, a number that clearly shows the strength of feeling about the issue locally. Every section of the Port's society took part in the march round town; all political parties were united for once, local associations were there including ESRA (English-Speaking Residents Association), as well as individual residents wishing to play their part. Babies in prams were pushed alongside the not so young in wheelchairs and businessmen walked the same route as housewives. Pollença's Mayor, Francesca Ramon, led the demonstrators with President of the Port de Pollença Neighbourhood Association Felipe Segui and representatives of local political parties, all carrying a banner before them.
Huge turn out for Port de Pollença protest
