Palma city council yesterday refuted claims that some of the city's parking meters were over charging drivers paying in euros. Dornier, the company contracted to operate Palma's parking meter concession, said that none of the capital's machine are deficient, contrary to claims from Mallorca Socialist Party councillors on Monday. All of the machines should accept 5, 10, 20 or 50 cents or one and two euro coins and because of the rounding up, in some areas of the city, such as zone three, parking rates have actually fallen by two pesetas.
