While the vast majority of people are now accustomed and comfortable with the euro, the single currency has not brought good tidings for everyone. The euro is going to cost thousands of jobs in the Balearics alone with an estimated 500 currency exchange bureaux being forced to close their doors as the arrival of the single currency literally erased their marker over night on December 31.
