A group of Majorcan Local Police officers will next week be taking part in a course to learn how to look after and protect tourists. A total of 15 Local Police men and women from Majorca will be attending the special course set up by Catalunya's Local Police force. The crime wave in the Balearics has caused growing concern about public safety and one of Barcelona's biggest problems is crime which is turning American and Japanese tourists away. On the course police will learn about new crime prevention techniques and how to spot and dealt with petty criminals amongst the crowds.
