Palma is about to launch a new war on dog mess. The fresh drive to be waged by the municipal water board EMAYA will run for the next three months and by the end of the year, EMAYA will have installed 250 “healthy dog” kits, special poop-scoop plastic bag distributers at various strategic points of the city. EMAYA has already installed 160 of the poop-scoop bag outlets in and around the capital, but wants to have 250 in place by Christmas. The council and the water board have been impressed with dog owners' response to the bag outlets and hope that once all 250 are in place, the people of Palma will no longer have to watch where they are walking, especially when they go to the poll next May.
