Oscar-winning comic actor Robin Williams, starring in a new film role more sinister than his fans have come to expect of him, said yesterday he had a “dark side” and used comedy to fight it. Williams, in Madrid to promote the psychological thriller “Insomnia,” in which he plays a killer chased by a detective portrayed by Al Pacino, said: “I do have a dark side,” but added that his comic talent helped him deal with it. Williams kept reporters entertained with impressions ranging from President Bush to Boris Yeltsin.
