Globespan Group plc has announced the launch of the company's no frills airline, Flyglobespan.com, which offers an attractive programme of European destinations, including Palma, served direct from Glasgow Prestwick International airport. Majorca's attraction to the UK no-frills airline industry appears to be never-ending. The Glasgow service will operate between April and November 2003, with Globespan 737-300 aircraft serving all routes. The 2003 scheduled flight programme includes Glasgow to Palma, Nice, Rome and Malaga with tickets now available on-line. For East coast travellers Flyglobespan.com will also offer the facility to travel direct from Edinburgh to Palma, Nice, Barcelona and Malaga. The new airline will build on the successes of the company's highly popular Edinburgh to Nice scheduled service which ran throughout summer 2002, with occupancy rates of more than 80%. Globespan Group plc has its headquarters in Colinton, Edinburgh and is one of the most consistently successful operators within the UK travel sector. Globespan Group's chairman and managing director, Tom Dalrymple said this new service represents a first for Scotland, and passengers will benefit from Globespan's 30-year reputation for delivering maximum choice and value, supported by unrivalled customer service. FlyGlobespan.com will offer direct, scheduled, affordable air connections to popular sunspots not previously available from any Scottish airport.
