The Hotel Don Pedro in Cala San Vicente (Pollensa) may be demolished under plans which are now being negotiated by the various parties which make up the Council of Majorca. The hotel has 284 beds and these would be rebuilt on a new site in Sa Rápita in Campos. The site on which the Don Pedro now stands would be converted into an open space for public use. Josep Melia, head of the Council of Majorca's planning department, confirmed the proposal and said that as there is no other area in the municipality of Pollensa where the hotel could be rebuilt, rustic land in Campos will be classified.
