News desk THE latest Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, opens today in English at the Ocimax multiplex, and it is expected to do just as well in Majorca as it has in the rest of the world.

It is based on the third book of the best-selling saga by J K Rowling, and is much darker in tone than the earlier films as Harry and his two friends reach adolescence.

Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) can barely wait for summer to end so that he can rejoin his friends Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) at Hogwarts.
But they will be forced to face up to their darkest fears as well as the escaped prisoner of the title, the sinister Sirius Black (Gary Oldman).
This third film in the franchise is full of fantastic creatures, such as the Hippogryph, a magical creatre which is half bird and half horse.
The director is Alfonso Cuarón.
The film, which opens simultaneously in Spanish and Catalan, is one of four which are currently showing in Palma. See What' on today for details of times.

As the Harry Potter film is expected to be so popular, tickets can be booked in advance.
