By Humphrey Carter A British yachtsman was tragically found dead, hanging from his yacht in Palma harbour yesterday morning. The 55-year-old Briton called Peter was found by a neighbouring yacht owner on one of the new quays in front of the Auditorium just before 10am, hanging from the gang plank with his torso in the water.


It is thought that the Briton slipped while getting back on the catamaran Lady Mallorca during the night.
According to the police he was trying to open the door to the main cabin when he slipped and got his foot tangled in the cataraman nets and moorings. Police also confirmed that he struggled, trying to work himself free.

Police were called to the scene immediately and Guardia Civil GEAS divers were needed to lift the body out of the water, much to the concern of stunned yachtsmen and women on the quay.
