THE popular Night Bus, organised by the Municipal Transport Company (EMT), which is used by people enjoying the nightlife in Palma between 11pm and 6am on Fridays, Saturdays and Bank Holidays, is to start a new Friday night bus route.
The new bus route will connect the Paseo Maritimo with Paseo Mallorca, Plaza de España and Porta des Camp. This new service is being offered as the current routes are always busy and there have been many suggestions to have routes that connect the Paseo Maritimo with more areas in the centre of Palma, said a spokesperson from Palma city council.
The new 41 night route will start at Paseo Maritimo and will proceed to Avenida Argentina, Paseo Mallorca, Avenidas de Portugal, Alemania and Comte Sallent, Plaza España and Porta des Camp. The return journey will pass by the Avenidas, Ramón y Cajal, Avenida Argentina and Paseo Maritimo. Buses run every 20 minutes. The new route will affect the current parking system in Parc de la Mar, which will be replaced with new parking spaces at Vía Roma. Those using the night bus have to pay 1 euro for the bus and an additional 1 euro for parking.
