The works were visited recently by the deputy mayor of the Citizen Security department and the President of the Municipal Society of Palma Car Parks (SMAP), Alvaro Gijon, and the director of the above mentioned Society, Javier Vasquez.
Gijon said that the car park will have 511 spaces, 115 of which will be for residents.
At the same time he said that within two weeks the work on the pedestrian area in Avenida Antoni Maura will have finished.
The total cost of the car park is 19'137'653 euros.
Gijon confirmed that the medieval bridge support (which dates from the 5th or 6th Century) discovered in the archeological excavations, started in 2004, will be integrated into the car park. He added that there will be a video made to give information about its history and significance.
