PALMA
THERE will be two major art events in Palma today, both presided by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.
The first will take place at the Cathedral at 12 noon, when the Santísimo chapel, which has been remodelled by artist Miquel Barceló, will be blessed and opened.

The artist himself will be on hand to explain his work to the King and Queen. The chapel has been covered with a 300-square metre ceramic depicting the miracle of the loaves and fishes.

The second event is the opening of an exhibition of sculptures, drawings and ceramics by architect Santiago Calatrava at Es Baluard, and the unveiling of his 15-metre bronze sculpture Bou (Bull) on the Museum's terrace.

The exhibition marks the third anniversary of the Museum's opening and will be open until April 15.
The sculptures on show are in marble, bronze and steel.
