THE Mayor of Calvia Carlos Delgado is putting the final touches to his new council team with a top post for councillor Teresa Martorell who will control three of the most important council departments; building and planning, economy and tax and general services. According to yesterday's Spanish newspapers Martorell will become a super councillor with a much enlarged department and responsibilities. Martorell will also be deputy Mayor.

There is no change in role for Kate Mentink who will continue as the person responsible for tourism and foreign residents in the municipality.
Bartomeu Bonafe will be responsible for the local police and Calvia 2'000, the council water and rubbish collection company.
Apart from that there are no other major changes in the Delgado team who will govern alone for the first time after winning an overall majority in the local elections.

Carlos Delgado has no longer had to pact with the Majorcan Unionists, his coalition partners for the last four years.
