PALMA
SOME of the most beautiful vehicles ever constructed will cruise the streets of Palma next weekend during the Mallorca Revival 2008 Classic Car Parade.

Based on the famous Goodwood Revival vintage vehicle rally held in the UK, the Palma event features around 20 beautifully restored cars ranging from a 1920s Rover through to a classic model dating from the 1960s. It is organised by the Classic Car Club Mallorca.

The parade, on October 26, begins at 12.30 pm from Golf Club Son Quint, Son Vida. It will travel a 30 km route through the city via Porto Pi, Paseo Maritimo, Calle Argentina, the Borne, Plaza Cort, Palma Old Town, Avenidas and Paseo Mallorca before returning to the starting point. Many of the participants will be wearing typical period costume from the era of their vehicle. Club president Georg Letzerich said they were expecting many spectators to line the route. “It will be good for residents and tourists to see some of the best vehicles ever made as they drive through the streets of Palma.”
