Palma wages war on rogue vehicles in bid for cleaner air

PALMA City Council yesterday announced that it will be launching a new campaign to reduce air contamination in the capital before Christmas.
The pollution reduction initiative was unveiled during a joint press conference given by the Balearic Minister for the Environment, Miguel Angel Grimalt, and the Palma City Councillor for the Environment, Cristina Cerdó and the campaign is to be launched within the next month.

The prime target is going to be traffic which is apparently responsible for 95 percent of air contamination in the city and the authorities plan to get high polluting vehicles off the roads.
