AN organisation aimed at representing British and Irish businesses, residents and workers has been formed.
Asociacion de Britanicos, Irlandeses Residentes, Empresarios y Trabajadores en las Baleares has been created to look after the interests of residents and businesses.

Its main objectives are to promote winter and summer tourism, assist firms with legislation advice, advise workers on their rights and entitlements, set up resident self-help groups and organise fund-raising events.

Former police officer Jim Bryceland is behind the project alongside Majorca residents Jenny Covill, Ray Durkin and Linda Ledwidge.
However, the organisers are looking for volunteers across the Balearics to set up regional branches of the group. Help is urgently needed in the north and east of Majorca, Minorca and Ibiza.

Jim Bryceland said: “We really need people to assist with the running of the organisation. We have people in place in the south west of Majorca, but because of the extent of the area involved we require people to help out in other regions so we can operate under one umbrella.”
