PALMA'S Institute for Occupational Training and Development (IMFOF) yesterday presented its Christmas fair which for yet another year will take place in the city suburb of Sa Gerreria off Via Sindicato. On the agenda will be concerts, craft markets and exhibitions of historic Christmas cribs.

Children's choirs will be the stars of the beginning of the festival which will run between 13th and 20th December. The concerts have been organised in conjunction with the Balearic Choral Federation and will be held in Plaza de la Artesania and the Socorro Church, both in Palma. Also during these dates, there will be a 15-stall craft market running. IMFOF is setting up an exhibition in the local Craft Centre (Centro de Artesania) which will be on display until 5th January - it is entitled “300 years of craftsmanship, shepherds and Christmas cribs, from the 17th to 20th centuries). Finally, in recognition of Christmas, the Occupational Training Institute has planned an event for the children who go to school in the area of Sa Gerreria entitled “The Tree of Good Wishes”. Children of adjacent schools aged between 5 and 12, have decorated and written a total of 1'500 Christmas cards including their wishes for Christmas.
