PALMA
IF you are still struggling to find that perfect Christmas present, perhaps a visit to this afternoon's auction of jewelry, watches, furniture, art, antiques and other unusual and valuable items at the newly opened Riskal culture and entertainment centre in Palma may provide the solution.

The first Riskal auction to be held at the luxury leisure complex features a wide range of objects, in particular a 1929 Ford Torpedo classic car.
The 1920's vintage car's leather interior is in perfect condition and the vehicle is in full running order.
But, with a reserve price of 66'000 euros a vintage car is maybe not what you are looking for, there are some wonderful items of 19th century furniture going under the hammer as well as a rare selection of jewelry including a 18 karat white gold necklace of 35 Australian pearls.

A complete 19th century French gramophone is among the lots going up for auction as is an antique Russian carpet, a 19th century “magic lamp” and a rare 19th century South African sword.

Works of art by the likes of Picasso, Tapies and Anckermann will also be sold to the highest bidder during this afternoon's auction which starts at 5pm and runs until
9pm. There is also a large selection of ceramics and pottery up for sale including two items dating back to Before Christ.
A 1550 iron and wood safe is also up for sale to keep your newly purchased valuables in.
