PALMA
FLIGHTS between the Balearics and the UK were disrupted yesterday after a number of airports were brought to a standstill by the snow (see page 11).

Bristol, Luton and Aberdeen airports were all closed yesterday morning with Luton resuming operations at 2pm and Bristol at 5pm although easyJet had suspended all check in until 6pm.

Calvia resident Simon Peters, due to have been flying with Ryanair into Stansted yesterday arrived at Palma airport to find his flight canceled. He has been bumped on to a flight due to depart - weather permitting in Britain. One of the few flights from Mahon, Minorca, to England was cancelled.

With further heavy snow falls forecast over the next few days in Britain, air passengers either heading in, from the Balearics for example, or out of the country are advised to check with their airlines before heading to airports.
