By Catherine Sasson PIRATES is a family run business that was started by my father in 1985, since then we have entertained over three million families. Eight years ago, we decided to hold an annual Charity Premiere to raise money for Great Ormond Street and to give families who have had children in the hospital a well deserved holiday of a lifetime through our partner, First Choice Holidays.

Pirates are really proud of being part of the “Theatres for Theatres Appeal” which is an exciting three-year initiative to raise £4 million to make a dramatic difference to the lives of young patients requiring specialist brain surgery.  Following the recent death of my father Jacques Sasson, it has been decided that all the money raised on the night will be put towards specialist equipment to be used in the “Theatre for Theatres” campaign and a plaque will be placed in his name at the Hospital.

Thanks to the fabulous support we have received from our sponsors, United Kingdom-based celebrity guests and the British residents here in Majorca, we have raised over €500'000 for the Hospital. This money has funded many projects including a Pirates treatment room in the new state of the art Octav Botnar wing of the Hospital.

The event this year will be more special than ever with lots of different ways to donate to the charity throughout the evening. The fabulous After Party will be held at Pacha and sponsored by our partner Thomas Cook, for which extra tickets are also available. We hope that this year's event in celebration of my father's life will be even more successful than the previous ones.
