Palma.—The first of the accidents happened in the Port of Alcudia at 10.30am.
A 74-year-old man originally from Andorra was knocked down and killed by a driver who apparently lost control of his vehicle. According to the police, he was speeding along Avenida Pere Mas i Reus at the time.

The 27-year-old lone driver apparently came over one of the many bridges in the area, lost control, swerved across the road, hit a parked car, bounced off into a tree and then took out a number of terraces before coming to a halt after having run the elderly man over.

Paramedics could not save the 74-year-old who died at the scene while the driver was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
The second accident happened at 1.30pm along the Inca to Sencelles road.
The 47-year-old appears to have lost control of his motorbike on a bend in the road and careered off the road.
A full investigation has been opened by the Guardia Civil to discover exactly what happened but the motorcyclist died from multiple injuries sustained in the accident.
